2026 Spring President’s Letter

PAFA Nation:

This season started off like the Titanic hitting an iceberg with an event held in the depths of winter. Snowman Tom was able to stay hot through the frigid temperatures and solidify his handle for life – we all know Tom is excited.

The state shoot was interesting to say the least. Good birds, a revamped venue, and great times with many faces we don’t see throughout the year. Zach crushed it for a second straight year. With this repeat, Zach and his dad Rig are the only father/son duo to win the PA Championships in back-to-back years. Congrats to this powerhouse family.

It was also a cold season for the trap and handle game. Many fun days were had with some great friends. It is a challenging game and I highly recommend anyone that has yet to experience it make a point to join us next year.

Many shoots have already taken place with great birds, even better food, and as always a good YAA KNOOOW from Al – what would a weekend be without one?

As for our business front, we have been fortunate to receive a grant from the TLC Foundation. We have appropriately invested a large portion of this grant in the hopes of preserving our position for many years to come. Of course, we stand ready to deploy any and all resources in an effort to continue the great work we have achieved with our friends in Harrisburg and beyond.

Our new lobbyist Barry has been doing a fantastic job thus far. Barry spoke with a poignant update at the state shoot, sharing many updates and creating lots of meaningful connections in Harrisburg within the House and Senate. The future is very bright with Barry at the helm. We look forward to welcoming our friends in the legislature at our next mixer in May.

We were fortunate to have a Beretta 12 gauge donated by our good friend Ryan for a give away at the mixer. Ryan – as always thank you for your continued support. In that same vein – please consider supporting our cause through a donation on this platform. 100% of your dollars go to helping us continue the fight in Harrisburg. Though the temperature is currently low on the anti front – things can change in a heartbeat. Additionally, we have welcomed some new members to our board of directors. Ed and Joe – thank you for coming forward to support our causes. We would like to thanks Joe and Bill – former board members – for their outstanding contributions through the years and all they have done to help advance our cause.

As spring approaches with summer behind it, the schedule will be heating up. Be on the lookout for communication for events and please make sure you contact the appropriate folks to let them know you will be coming to participate. Additionally, be on the lookout for the return of the single barrel race at the summer picnic – a fan favorite of old that is always a great time!

As we close this update, I would like to thank the PAFA Executive board and board of directors, shoot promoters, all our friends throughout the country that support us, but most of all you the participants. All our efforts cannot happen without each of you – your engagement, your support, and most of all your belief in our right to shoot the sport we love. PAFA is poised and prepared for any shot that is thrown our way. We are strong, well-funded, and intensely driven to protect our right to this wonderful sport.  The state of the union is strong and we will be keeping the lights on for many years to come.

Respectfully Submitted

Pete
